"Heart of Harrisburg" is a five-year initiative laying the foundation for a booming community future. Harrisburg anticipates that its population of 8,600 will climb to more than 12,000 by 2030 and reach 18,000 by 2040. There's ample land for growth, and the "Heart of Harrisburg" program provides for land use planning and economic development that will complement business, educational, residential, and recreational activities that will position Harrisburg for a well-rounded economy in the decades to come.
